WEB EXCLUSIVE: Women fall to URI, 53-46

The Friars Women’s BBall team dropped a close one Tuesday night to inter-state rival University of Rhode Island 53-46 on campus at Alumni Hall. The loss dropped the team’s record to 3-2, after an impressive 81-70 over Marist College last Saturday. Dani Trippany led the team in scoring and rebounding, recording 13 points and 13 boards.

The Women’s Ice Hockey team stopped a five-game winless streak on Sunday, Nov. 25, by crushing Harvard University 6-0. The Friars went ahead early on freshman Carrie Holldorf’s first goal 3:45 into the game, which would prove to be all that PC needed to defeat the struggling Crimson.

WEB EXCLUSIVE: Men’s Basketball tames Columbia, 68-54

After a trip full of lessons in Las Vegas, the Men’s Basketball team returned to the Dunkin’ Donuts Center Saturday night and easily defeated Columbia University, 68-54, for its third straight victory. While the Friars defense dictated the pace of the game for most of the night, causing the Lions to turn the ball over 25 times, Providence also looked a bit unpolished and turned the ball over 19 times.

WEB EXCLUSIVE: Men’s Hockey defeats Clarkson, 4-2

The Men’s Hockey team rebounded from Friday’s tough loss to St. Lawrence to post a 4-2 victory over the Clarkson Golden Knights. The win ended the Friars’ four-game winless streak. The game was marred with penalties as the Friars and the Golden Knights combined for 33 penalties for a total of 82 minutes.
